In this version, I’ve made the frame solid as the timber I’m looking to flatten is within a certain size.
The end tracks were from a shelving system pre-slotted, and the bearings are ¼ inch router bearings.
Keeping it simple, I lined the steel angle with 3mm ply for the router to run along on. Rather than making a separate sled.
Depending on the depth of the timber I can pack the frame up and screw it down to the bench with countersunk batten screws. Slab flattening jig.pdf
