    Simple tool makiing

Sorry for not posting until now.

I joined this forum last year to gather some new ideas to help me make a tool or two when I run into the need. Most of the tools I have made are pretty simple. I make them so I can accomplish the task at hand. Having the right tool for a job saves so much time. Now that I am retired, I have more time on my hands than money. So, I spend some of my time making a few simple tools.

I have many hobbies that require tools. I hunt, fish, camp, have a mini-farm, build and fly giant scale model aircraft, have a fleet of Miatas for fun, plan to restore a rusted old MGA and have just added training a Boykin Spaniel to the list. I have crafted tools for all of my hobbies at one time or another.

I have a shop with the normal shop tools including a mini-lathe, MIG, stick and gas welders, I also recently acquired a bench top mill. The mill is new to me and I have a lot to learn to be able to use it.

I plan to build a metal brake to use for making MGA parts. That is what brought me to the forum in the first place. I need one that is longer 4' to bend new inner sills. I built a prototype about 2' long that mounts in my vise to test the design I decided on. The design was based on several different ideas.

It has been used for a few projects so far and works well. Now all I have to do is set aside the time to make the longer one.

Is it OK for me to post links to my Miata website on this forum? Some tools I have made are already on it.
