This is a simple tool based on a design by Jamie Wallen of The Quilter’s Apothecary. It spans two rollers on a long-arm Quilting machine and provides side lighting at a very low angle to highlight the stitching area and emphasize texture. It is especially useful at night when lack of natural light makes it harder to see. It is just an LED under cabinet light mounted so that it shines sideways across the quilt surface. The light cost about $35 and the wood was just scraps that I had in my wood stash. The block on the end is necessary because of the design of this particular machine (APQS Millenium). The design may have to be modified slightly based on the specific machine.
