I believe "grass fed" is used mostly regarding beef cows. The meat quality grass vs. grain. Those are dairy, so I'm not sure that term is used as much for dairy if at all. But I know I've been wrong before.

Grass-fed dairy is regarded as better flavor and quality. As far as our meat, we try to purchase pastured beef but even then there are so many factors not related to their food source that can affect the flavor of the meat.

When I lived in New Hampshire, there was an event at a local dairy called the dancing of the cows. It was when they let the cows out of the barn and into the fields for the first time in the spring. These things would be hopping and playing around just like a dog.
