“How many things that are made today…..”. Well, I have seen a lot on HMT that exemplify the highest craftsmanship. They OUGHT to last. But, casting flattery aside the microscope base reminded me of a painted zinc lamp stand I broke up this morning. That ormulu style will probably come back into fashion, perhaps after steampunk. But the lamp stand was thoroughly nasty…..
