If you ever needed a dog point screw, a pointed set screw, or even just a flat end screw
then this is a handy adapter that can get the job done in a 3 jaw chuck.
Make up several Screw Bushings before tapping the 10-32 set screw holes.
Use the housing as a drilling guide for all the bushings before tapping the set screw holes.
The bushing should be a slip fit into the Housing for best operation.
1/2-20 Bolt and Nut may either be turned round and knurled or just drill the hex heads
for a .187 Tommy bar. They can even be left as is and just use a wrench. Very light pressure
so you do not push hard on the Screw Bushing.
I leave drilling /reaming the Screw Bushings until I know what size screw it will be used for.
I used another accessory to flatten the end of the 1/2-20 bolt. I needed a true surface on
the end of the bolt and did not want it dished. Here is the link to the build thread for that tool.
Lathe Chuck Adapter for holding Bolts on Sherline, 100mm and 125mm Prints Included
And yet another Bolt modification tool. The Lantern Chuck.
