Are those axles only held in place by gravity?
Yes. The empty weight is 53,000 pounds (it's on the side of the car) and unless the railcar goes off the track, gravity will apply a decent down force and nothing is needed to hold the wheels in the trucks.Originally Posted by hemmjo
