With such a small base, it must be very limited to load weights, especially when extended sideways.

Yup. I'd want some outriggers on that before I went up in the air with an offset load. It's a very cool machine, but looks like a dead operator waiting to happen.

these are ment to be used in narrow isles, but the forces when the forks are turned 90 to the base and the lift is extended are not fun, but maybe the fact that the operator is high in the air makes the pucker factor more pronounced so that the guy doesn't risk tipping...
