    OK, that makes sense. I don't have mine cut. The outside surface seems to be polished which may seal up the carbon black pigment in the rubber from marking. Maybe try a Scotchbrite mesh or nylon mesh wheel on a piece and see if that makes any difference?

    This seems like a great idea, I was going to cut up some old truck mudflaps - to cut the hard pucks, did you use a bandsaw and what blade (TPI) approximate?

    Yes, I used my bandsaw. I think is was a variable pitch blade but not critical. Hopefully you can find a free puck.
