he sold a lot of them with an insert that had a tiny electric motor turning an ink printed cellophane belt hidden behind a screen with lights causing the visual of a flame with small electric heaters to provide a little radiant heat. Creating the illusion of there being an actual fireplace. I could never wrap my head around why people would spend large sums of money for fake junk when they could have the real thing for the same money. Of course, the real thing would mean they would have to learn how to actually build a fire in their fireplace and not burn their Mc Mansions to the ground.
