    I have tried this, and the hardest part is getting the same plastic as the item being repaired. It is kind of like welding, but plastic can get out of control very easily (sag, overheat, etc.). I did this with a HF plastic heat gun and scraps of the plastic I was working on. The plastic had punctures from a fork lift that I was trying to close up. Have to work slow and let things cool rather than keep going...
