    Cool Shop Press.

Here is a shop press project i started way too long ago, finished and reworked again. It sat in my garage unwelded for more than 15 years. Then i needed it real bad. So i welded it up with a 6T bottle jack. Then i wanted a little more push so i upgraded to a 12T jack. I also designed it to make the bottom brace, bed plate and jack removeable so i can slip in a 1/2T chainfall and use the frame for a grantry crane to lift my collection of South Bend lathes on and off their legs...Bob

Cool Tire bead breaker attachment for the shop press.

I needed to break down my lawn tractor tire to add a tube and i couldn't get the bead broke. So i made an attachment to slip over my 1" tooling of my shop press. It worked great and just took 10 minutes to dream up and build. Made from 3/8" flat stock and a piece of pipe to fit over my 1" bar. It worked great...Bob

Looking at that frame,I bet you could use a 20 ton jack safely. We have a chinese made press in my work ashop with a 20T jack and the frame is smaller than yours. It's interesting to watch the frame twist when the pressure really goes on... :-(
