    That must be a relatively small ship or a VERY sturdy wharf, or both as I was expecting considerable damage from what appears to be a very considerable impact.

    noticed the port anchor is lowered - possible loss of control and not really rife for options to control the ship?

    I believe the latter is true - In the beginning we see a gantry crane at the end of the pier. Also the broad band of red paint (water line) on the ship indicates it's either empty or very lightly loaded. I was impressed with how little damage was done to the bulbous bow.
