Alright kid you have learned the basics of creating a siphon flow on a half inch hose Now can you do it with 2 inch and 4 inch curved aluminum pipes a 1000 times a day to irrigate a potato field? When you can come see me I'll take you to my cousin and he will put you to work @ 15.00 an hour
Never try to tell me it can't be done

If you are being serious, First you push the end of the hose as deep as possible into the container you want to siphon from hold your thumb over the end and pull a short distance from the container, lift your thumb slightly to break the seal as you rapidly push the hose back into the container then immediately press your thumb back on the end of the hose, repeat the process as often as necessary to cause the fluid to reach your thumb. Hold the thumb closed end below the intake end and release your thumb the fluid should flow freely.
