    Screw/nail holding tool - GIF

Screw/nail holding tool. Gimmick or gold? My default answer is usually "gimmick", but I don't know if I've ever used one of these in my entire life. Has anyone?

A glove seems to work fine for this, but maybe there's some repetitive job that justifies such a holder, but not any powered nailing method. Or are they great for diminished vision or lessened ability to hold a nail steady?

Ikea furniture often comes with a combination tool similar to this. It holds the nail not only away from your fingers but also at the correct distance from the edge for pinning the back on to a cabinet/bookcase.

I use a piece of wooden shingle with a split in it to hold nails and screws.
If you can't make it precise make it adjustable.

I gave it a thanks, not that I need one, but there are people who would benefit. If one doesn't hammer on a fairly regular basis, developing a stroke on-axis to the nail (center punch, pin punch, drill drift etc) isn't going to be natural.
