Wouldn’t use just clear that thin layer and bits right off or is this mostly aesthetic?
Seems like a waste of time, electricity and rubber to me. Just the warming up lap would remove the pebbles and gunge. I note that brand new F1 tyres are shiny & smooth and become worn enough to see on TV by the end of the pit lane.
