Hello there. I saw your web site from a Instructable and was impressed by the range & quality of your posts. I must admit I admire the American way of sharing these ideas & the fact that you have such great possibilities in putting the same ideas into action... it is all very impressive.

I am what used to be known as a ships carpenter... having worked in the now gone shipyards on the River Clyde in the West of Scotland. I also have worked in Holland where they have used forethought and kept their yards in work as against the lack of forward planning in the Uk.

Hello there gentlemen... Thank you for the welcome .... BUT I am not intending to construct anything at the moment... I would like to browse first..... as you seriously have such a range & back catalogue of interesting material... some of which has opened my eyes... so I will digest and adapt what I see to suit my purposes.... In a way I suppose I have been lucky in that almost all the parts I have worked on has been with various hardwoods... so much that I am out of sync when constructing items using MDF etc... yet some of the items I have viewed on your site show ingenious use of plywood... curved & laminated... & chunky... first class... also I am heavily committed to the upcoming General Election in May of this year as I feel not enough forward planning is taking place. thank you again for the welcome...
