There are much worse videos going around, of red-armbanded Chinese officials beating chained dogs to death, apparently for fear of coronavirus transmission from the dogs. I'm not going to post them here, but they're easy to find on YouTube or LiveLeak.

The best explanation I've seen for this one is that it's a training exercise. Note the tire spike tools. At 0:39, you do see a sasumata being raised, but it looks like they eventually nab this guy with...a pool skimmer?

So at the beginning 30 sec of this video they seem to be taking temperature of the drivers forehead. Is this a coronavirus procedures training video? I don't think that was a pool skimmer. It looks like a dip net I use when catching crabs that has a plastic bag added to the interior of the the net.

I guess the Chinese folks are really afraid of being identified as testing positive with the coronavirus. Think the leper colony on Molokai island were you were simply abanded to that island with your incurable disease for the remainder of your life.

Good call. A dip net. Plastic bag on the interior makes perfect sense when subduing someone who is potentially contagious. Pandemic preppers: add that to your list!

Yes, I think it's a training video, or just a video of a training exercise. That's the most reasonable explanation I've heard, it's unlikely that this sort of exercise would be ad-hoc filmed and uploaded to the net, and the guy pulling off his mask and spitting on the ground seems to be acting in too contrived a manner to be real.

Almost looks like they took this guy down for wearing a Thai version of those plastic Crocs sandals.

They also use hoops like a dog-catcher does. People going nuts with a knife is common in some parts of China.
In America they just shoot them.

I also noticed once the guy went down and acquiesced they didn't bull rush him and grind him into the pavement for 10 minutes screaming for him to stop resisting. Knee on the neck and that kind of thing...

No need to shoot a person that doesn't have a long range weapon, just use a longer one to subdue him!

Because he gave up the knife and . . . voluntarily put his other arm behind him to get cuffed.

Need some high voltage taser probes on these devices to make them a bit better.
