Sam needs a Trimmer for brush and trees down fence line.

Does anyone know of or built a trimmer to trim/cut the brush and tree limbs down a fence line( like trimming a hedge or wall of trees limbs). My problem is the trees over hang the fence and grow thru the fence so i can't just cut them off at there base. I have seen where the right away and road side have been cut like want to cut mine but haven't seen the actual cutting process. The road side by my friends house was recently cut like i want to do but i can't find out who to call or what the machine looks like. I am thinking about a couple lengths of square tubeing hinged at the base and the middle with long mower deck belts driving a cutter head of a 12in carbide saw blade all driven off a 23Hp lawn mower motor. I am hoping someone on here has already made one, or at least someone can offer advice soon, before the growth gets completely out of hand. Thanks.

I am certain I have seen videos of industrial grade hedge trimmers... not to mention a few people with more "agricultural" solutions some of which border on dangerous.

Around here in central Ohio, the Township road department has a flail mower mounted on an arm on the side of a good sized tractor. The arm is similar to a backhoe, just not as heavy. They can drive down the road with the cutting deck in any position, from right along side the tractor, to 15-20 feet in the air. The mower deck can held horizontal, angled to mow either side of a ditch, or vertical to trim over hanging branches. Is it a "Deadly Looking" contraption you sure could not let just anyone operate it.

For certain, 2 HP isn't going to get you anywhere. I will bet that those roadside clearing rigs take more like 40 HP
