    A good question, how much heavier is the lift with two boats than when it is 'empty'.

    Shouldn't be much if any difference the weight of the boats would displace that amount of water. As the boat exited at the top water would replace the weight of the boat.

    Wonder what system of seals they use between the lower and upper canals, and the lift? They seem pretty watertight
