    Safety footwear

For those of you who work in heavy industry, but prefer to wear sandals……..but proper boots are not available everywhere…..may I suggest this remedy.

That’s not just mild steel, that forms the main support (lowest). It was a handsaw blade. In its second incarnation, it formed part of the return spring on my hydraulic press. A dull red heat allows the curve to be formed. Likewise, the springs are flattened, at a red heat.: To get an even appearance, the spring must be tapped very lightly. I had in mind that they might form pectorals, etc, for costumes.

See what I mean? They’re not selling well.

The lowest band is mild steel, curved cold.

I made these sandals solely to entertain HMT members, and probably nobody on here is without proper safety shoes, but you have to admit, we’ve often seen workers without them. Hope you appreciate this post.

They are very clunky and I may not wear them indoors.

Now all that is needed is to demonstrate them while a few people in coveralls hold their thumbs up. Outdoors, of course.
Hard to believe that there doesn't seem to be a UK (or anywhere) patent for steel-toed sandals with luxurious wooden soles. Prior art is right here. Just saying.

    Lol, I've seen people make steel-toed Crocs...https://www.flickr.com/photos/slap-t...l-69453349@N00

    Also, how they were done:

    Love it!
How do I order a pair? What other colours are available? Unfortunately can’t find them anywhere not even eBay or Amazon. Just as a design change maybe socks could have the toe area reinforced so the sandals can be still worn on the beach, only a thought.
