Just stumbled upon this video from Alex, an Austrian engineer-
who in his clean, well-kept and -equipped shop solved a problem:
He had bought a used, expensive dividing head years ago, but recently found it's worm gear inconsistent,
and while measuring finding it was in parts pretty rusty...
The guy simply decides to regrind the hardened worm in his home shop,
by dismantling his Deckel Universal grinder, remounting it on a DIY toolpost mount in his Maximat V13 lathe,
winging an external lo-speed motor to its spindle, improvicing a few odd change gears in and start grinding away...
Not affiliated - just wanted to share this guy's pure guts and down-to-earth methods.
Seems like the guy is also the designer of this: https://www.gtp13.com/
I wish I'd have just a bit of Alex's sheer luck in my own shop projects.
