Router bt selection help

I wish to make a couple of dies for a diy pipe bender from Hard wood.I thought I could make a small horizontal table for my router and rout out the groove.The tube I wish to use is 25.4mm OD with a 2mm wall.Being new to the world of routing I would like some assistance in choosing the correct type and size of bit with a 1/2" shank.Below is a pic of what I wish to build for my Grandson it is aprox 1.4m long and aprox 450mm wide

Look for core box bits to match the diameter of the tubing you intend to use. You may need to build a jig to safely and accurately rout the edge of the disk. Perhaps a guide for a router table might be best using the fence and some blocks to keep the disk centered over the bit. Disc stood on edge against fence with blocks keeping disk centered over the bit. Then rotate disk, some form of added handle to help control the disk would help. Hope this is more helpful than confusing, not the best exspainer I guess. Looks like a fun project.
By the way I assume you do not have access to a lathe if you are thinking of using a router.

Thank you I was going to make a quick horizontal router table and drill a series of center holes to sneak the bit depth up

Looks good if the major diameter is correct for the stock you intend to use. The height of the carbide is on the short side so multiple passes will get you a profile in your wood die deeper than the carbide. Should work. Have fun.
