Hi all,
Having to occasionally weld flanges to tubing etc., for small jobs, I decided to make up this simple stand using my readily available scrap materials.
With advancing age and an increasingly unsteady hand, this makes this process much easier. Not having to walk round the job with the welding torch and its cable trailing behind or having to stop and rotate the work, is a real boon. Could also be used for spraying car wheels with the same benefits.
There is nothing sophisticated like bearings being used, the outer tube simply turning metal to metal at the top, making a good earth/ground contact.
There is about 1/8 to a 1/4 inch of vertical clearance between the two discs to allow freedom of movement.
