They’re usually drums. I couldn’t find any details on this bladed type, but the concept is the same - the drum is sitting in a trough filled with some sort of slurry. As it rotates the liquid is drawn through the mesh of the drum (or blades) and drained. The less-wet slurry is then scraped off into another container.
