jeez I wish I had one of those elevators when I re-shingled.
I almost busted myself on that.
Not seeing the "dangerous" part myself, grab a pack on your shoulder, move over to the valley (the rope bit is for effect) and off load...any difficulty along the way you drop on all four, square up and move on.
I'm guessing the dangerous part would be the fairly steep pitch of the roof plus I'm guessing the house is at least 2 stories.

As have I and therefore KNOW it is dangerous as you also do given that you identified the danger by giving an example of what to do for "any difficulty". Walking on a tar-papered 12/12 roof IS inherently dangerous.Easy to say because I've done it many times.
