    Here are some drawings of a seamer I designed to be used by either an angle grinder or a drill motor for standing seam roofing we used to make, The tool they are using to close the seams looks nearly the same design

    You could exert some serious grunt with that geared setup.

    Picture #2 shows the actual tooth pitch of all of the gears it also shows the shaft that extends through where 1 of the pinch rollers would be mounted
    the there are 4 gears in a squared pattern and 1 driving gear centered to 1 side would be driven by either a drill or an angle grinder, the tooth count would be whatever the distance required to mate to the 2 driven gears on the same side the 4 gears in the square pattern all would have pinch rollers mounted to their shafts once the unit halves were closed the folded over seam would be pinched tight together at this time and now with the open side closed all gears would be in mesh The design was a close copy of a German made crimper I saw at a trade show. I couldn't take it apart, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to reverse engineer something if they can do a few minutes touchy feely with most things providing they have a basic understanding of how things work
