    The air vents on the hood of my ‘87 Trans Am where done this way. Nice to see how it was done.

    A lot of times louvers are more for show than ventilation, the mesh still allows air to flow through as in an attic vent but prevents insects from entering. Having louvers over the mesh looks better than a simple screen wire panel
