Having rewound a few motors I can say for a fact that those windings came out a lot faster than they went in.
You might note how even the ends are. That tells me they were cut on the other end before puling them out , other wise they would not come out with 1 pull.

How do you split it in half? Usually I cut the windings on one side, then hammer a tapered drift through the coils. I have split a couple of small ones, using a sharpened stripping knife, but it destroyed the knife!

i got a bare axe head, and spent some time w angle grinder, thinning it out ,, so its long and thin,,,use a 5# hammer and 20-25 hits later its in half,,,currently working on a hydralic press, using a 1/4 plate sharpened on one end to cut in half..its very easy using a 20 inch pry bar to remove stator wire once u split in half..now the small stators, where the plates are shorter that 2 inches i leave alone and use a chisel to cut off one end of wire ,then remove wire via the prybar..otherwise the plates will bend in the vise and make a mess of removing wire..
