Actually the exact shade of the yellow on the neck is called of all things, Old Highway Yellow which just happens to be the old Caterpillar yellow. The company probably named it old highway yellow to stave off any legal actions Since there is really no such thing as old highway yellow

Now that the neck is painted and ready for assembly I decided that I didn't want a full wood deck on it.
What I plan to do is to have 4 strips of wood called nailing strips for those times when the dunnage or load securement blocks need to be fastened to the neck itself by nailing them in place. and I will have aluminum planking to take up the remainder of the deck area.
I have a wrecked all aluminum flat bed trailer that needs new cross members and planking to make it sellable or useable which ever we decide to do with it should we decide to rebuild it. This means the old planking on it would need to be removed anyway. Why not strip off the old planking, cut the good portions into lengths that I can use on the RGN neck it is basically $2000.00 worth of free materials albeit used . Big deal.
