    The Hobby Machinist NZ's Tools
    The tool supports the vase (in this case) while you turn off the tenon/spigot (the foot or waste wood at the bottom). The bit with the sand paper pushes on the bottom of the inside of the vase. The tailstock pushes on the foot (outside), which you need to remove. Both push directly against each other which make that end of the vase secure. The cone is pushed into the mouth of the vase to stabilize and secure that end of the vase.
