Hiya,
I'm part of a merry crew restoring a light station with a Keepers' Quarters that needs a new roof. We talented amateurs + one contractor have undertaken the four lower roofs but that 12/12 pitch, 40+ ft. main roof is a job for pros, if we can get the materials to them.
I followed a link to a ladder hoist that looks like it will do the trip for us. Now to explore and see if there's any guidance for repairing to historical spec the 1958 stiff arm crane that currently houses swallows.
Thanks for being here with good ideas.
I'm a fair cabinetmaker and tinkerer, sometimes drafted into doing doing actual boatwright work on the 1926 schooner the non-profit also owns. I work Really Slow on it. I am extremely fortunate to have married another woodworker; I get every tool I ask for at Christmas/Birthday time. I think a joiner will pretty much complete the shop this year.
You can see the crane and the Keeper's Quarters on our splash page; the smaller house (OICQ) is gone.
