So ages ago I rescued a 1/2" breaker bar which was being tossed because pieces were missing - essentially all that was left was the 450mm (18") handle portion.
I determined that the hinge screw thread was a metric 8mm, and I then used a 20mm structural bolt as stock to make up the missing 1/2" square drive piece.
I drilled the cross hole, and then used that as my reference for the grinding/ cutting the bolt down to the rough shape, and then resorted to files to bring it in to final size and fit.
I made the cross pin/screw by threading the shank of a long 8mm bolt so I had plain shank for the drive to swivel on, and then turning down the head of the bolt to form the dome head screw you see in the photos.
It's a little rough in places, but very useable.
