    I can see the point of them and in some instances they could be handy. But their use would be limited in many places due to the clearance's issue

    In my classic car phase I modified a cheap ring spanner to tackle brake pipe replacement, often sporting damaged and corroded nuts. Its as simple as it gets and takes up minimal room in tight places. You could just cut the pipes and use a normal ring spanner but I preferred to keep the old ones intact for a pattern.

    A $5.00 hacksaw can convert a boxed end wrench into just the needed tool sometimes.
