Hi Rat Rod Rick - welcome to HomemadeTools.net
Sounds like you have some very useful skills and experiences that will be helpful around here. Lots of retired folks here too. Any specific projects you're working on right now?

Thanks Jon,
My main project right now is finishing up my 1939 Ford Pick Up hot rod. It's home built with a tube frame, 5" chop on the roof, shortened box & is soon to receive a Summit Racing small block Chevy crate motor. I'm also setting up my newly expanded shop & so have spent most of my winter working on a scratch built cabinet for electrical supplies, a sand blast cabinet & a cart for a small surface plate. Got plenty going to keep me busy! Thanks for asking.
Hi Rat Rod Rick,
Welcome!
Sounds as though you've got an ideal skill set and will fit in perfectly here. Lots of automotive and fab guys around here. In fact, I'm expecting the engine for my current project to arrive later this week. What's on your workbench at the moment?
When you're ready to share some of your own homemade tools, we'd love to see them. Please post them directly in the Homemade Tools subforum. We'll add each one to the database, as well as to your builder page on the site.
Non-tool items should be shared in the Not a Tool, but Homemade subforum.
Ken
