Milady wants to put a rain gage on her deck. We had an extra one. It needed to be mounted on a board that could be secured to her deck.
So I found a board, cut it off square, sanded it nice, gave it a coat of Danish Oil Finish, zinc-plated the screws and mounted the instrument to the bit of board.
How to clamp the board to her deck so the wind won’t blow the rain gage off during a storm?
The tee part goes down thru the cracks between the deck boards, then the assembly is rotated so the T is perpendicular to the crack.
It’s all stainless steel, will never rust. The clamp foot rotates and wobbles freely; it’s pinned to the threaded part like C-clamps are.
Joints are silver-brazed.
Why do I do stuff like this? Because, being retired, I can do whatever I want!
