Good for the seller of replacement machines, not so good for the shop's budget.
Amazing how long it takes people to hit the big red button when the machine is obviously FUBAR and getting worse by the second.
My brother used to be chief control operator in a power plant (now retired), one time he heard something break and hit the e-stop in time to save a lot of the power plant. The logs showed he beat the computer to sensing the problem.
Oh, that problem? A spacer ring broke and eventually wedged between the rotor and stator on the multi-megawatt generator but it was already slowing from his stop.
