Forming a loop on the working end of a strap is easy. Just tie a knot. The pain comes when you try to untie that damn knot. A less painful method is to use a double slot buckle. Fish the working end through the buckle, form your loop, and then pass the end back through the buckle. It will be strong, yet is far easier to undo. I like this buckle, but I don't like all of that fiddling around. The buckle presented here is similar but easier to install and remove. Its geometry makes it stronger, which means it can be made from thinner and softer metal.
