    Push countersink tool - video

    Hi all,

I had an idea for a push countersink tool, based on the old speed screwdrivers. It doesn't quite work out, but it's not far off.

    Cheers,
    Paul.

I did have a look at buying a left-handed drill bit, but the only 8mm ones I could find cost a fortune! I'm thinking a left handed countersink bit would be pretty simple to make.

I have seen somewhere a handle for screwdriver bits with an integrated planetary gear that multiplies the turns of the handle.
I don't remember how they 'immobilize' one element of the planetary gear.

Have a look at this, maybe possible to reduce the shank on the countersink to suit this thingy ?

That's a good idea. Think I'd want to make an adapter rather than modify my grandad's countersink bit though!

I've seen the electric screwdrivers with planetary gear, but not a manual one. Sounds like it would be a fun project.
