Even with a narrow A and B pillar they still block the view, especially when turning left.
But not even close to a passenger's head. The driver is responsible for being capable of seeing around an obstruction like that or they should not be driving.
Of course "driver is responsible for being capable of seeing around an obstruction" no one has said they were not!
My point is that if a driver is incapable of moving their head or simply interpolating around a thin bar perhaps they should not be driving. I know somebody incapable of driving with a gps stuck to their windshield!
