Designing more things to protect those who do not poses any common sense I was cutting some pieces on my table saw a while back for a guy when he reached out like he was going to grab hold the running blade. I managed to deflect his hand away with my push stick.
Idiot, do you know why I use this to push material through the saw? This is a saw made for someone who knows how to use one not a stop and drop thing that won't cut through a raw hotdog. If you want this lumber ripped stand over there and don't ever touch a running machine in my shop because I'm not calling my ins. company to tell them stupidity has been here.

'Can't watch this without cringing! I don't care how much you trust technology, why in blue blazes would you test it at risk of losing your fingers? Raw stupidity on display. Yikes.

One huge problem is people become too complacent with machinery, power tools, cars, trucks, appliances, and everything else which has built-in technology to lessen or prevent injury or death, never realize until it is too late that nothing in completely infallible.

I started out working in a Blacksmith shop that had a couple of flat belt machines to start stop or change the speed you slid the running belt on and off the pullies how many 11,12- or 30-year-old kids today could learn how to run one of those machines and retain all of their digits? How many drivers of any age today can drive a vehicle without Power brakes or power steering?
