I thought I recognized this. It's a bizarre off-label version of what is actually a decent product - a safe knife for kids learning to cook.

Yup, there are folks thinking every task needs a different tool. They're also sold as tomato knives, cabbage knives, likely a few more.
I never ran into anyone doing such a volume of pool noodles requiring any kind of specialization. Could there be a market in upscale neighborhoods, mobile pool noodle trimmers?

As an expert class pool noodle user, I can assure you that a serrated bread knife works just fine.

Bread (and ensuing need to slice, knives) predate pool noodles, and "expert class pool noodle user".
Of this fact, we are absolutely sure.

There is contention what edge slices bread best. We've a 60's era straight long stainless blade with needle like saw teeth, does fine on real bread like French, German, Italian. Lesser loaves go for that rounded wavy UUUUUUU edge (exact opposite of serrated VVVVVVVV).
