This custom "AussieMozzie" airplane was built by Head in the clouds on HomebuiltAirplanes.com.
The AussieMozzie is the builder's own design for a 2-seat side-by-side plane. It was modeled in AutoCAD, with most of the parts cut by a CNC shop.
The wings double-fold to fit onto a trailer, or to use a shipping container as a hangar. The plane is powered by a new Rotax 912ULS engine, and the builder is shooting for around 100 knots.
This is a somewhat rare and interesting build, but with airplanes, it's difficult to save money by doing it yourself. As the builder acknowledges: "poverty is an aviation-related sickness".
