What is the purpose of extremely accurate alignment, is it to get the airflow directly in path of the pilot entry duct? I wouldn't have expected a degree or so either way would make any critical difference to airspeed measurement.
    Can someone enlight me please.

That should read "pitot entry duct", I seldom curse the autocorrection spell checker.

Not having any experience with aircraft in that price range it is just a guess that a highly accurate ASI is because so many flight calculations use the indicated airspeed. The more accurate that is the more accurate the answers are.
I do remember my primary flight instructor covering the ASI with his hand and saying "now land", or do some other maneuver. Sure came in handy the day I rear ended a big fat bug with the pitot tube just after liftoff on a short runway forcing a go around with no ASI. Had to take an air compressor to blast that little bugger back out.

The thing I remember most about instruments is they are likely to fail when you need them the most, always have options.

Reminds me of an old dad joke: What was the last thing that went through that bug's mind as he hit the windshield? HIS BUTT!
