Pig Roaster and drive from scratch

In mid December of 2009 my sister and nephew were discussing having a pig roast the next summer. They asked if it was possible to make up or rent a pig roaster. I called around and could not find a roaster for rent. I looked through the internet and found a lot of pictures but no real plans for building one.

I decided to try my hand at making one and drew some pictures and planned. I thought I could make one out of scrap. I just acquired an old trailer axle from a colleague at work and thought I could rehab it for this use. Well this is how it turned out.
