    Have to guess they had shut that engine down and it was just spinning from the air being rammed into it.

    But I can imagine some people on that flight were pretty freaked out!!!!

    Gawd, I HATED flying those old MD 80 variants...even though it's considered one of the safest planes of all time! Something about not knowing which was older, the aircraft or the old boiler flight attendants (American)...
