I like it. Probably because I could use one.
Everything has a weak link but it gets the majority of small packages out of sight and weather. It will accept multiple deliveries regardless of carriers.
Another great feature is that any handyman can build one.
    Nice.

Beef up the chains and the attachment points - the idea is to add significant bump in the road, not a bank vault.

Agreed... a sign on the interior hinged panel stating something to the effect "Smile, You're on Camera!" would add to that "bump in the road."

My shop location is not my residence, so I take measures to discourage the small time thieves/meth-heads from meddling around the place, basically making things look like it's more work than it's worth.

With my luck they'd steal the security box and it's contents.

Add a switch on the lid that beeps inside the building so you're on your way out as soon as it's opened.

All you need is take a pair of boxes down that are large enough for anything that might be delivered, bolt them down to anchors in concrete or the wood on your porch, and put instructions on them for any deliveryman to drop the parcel, and lock the provided padlock. Unless you get more than two deliveries a day, you should be in good shape, and no worrying about mechanical problems. (I have a heavy duty trunk drilled to do this exact thing, but I haven't gotten to drill the concrete anchors yet.)
