That is a very interesting video. Those devices probably saved thousands of acres of forest lands. On a lighter note; every time I see a fire tower, I think of the Red Green show in Canada and his fire watch friend. The loneliest guy in the world. A true introvert.

The view from those towers is awesome. Fascinating to see the ingenuity and craftsmanship integrated into those devices.
