This is an optical centre punch I made some time ago. It's used for centre punching accurately, I added the LED light later. One is powered by a USB charger with resistor to cut down on voltage the other is powered by a button battery. Green light seems to work best.

Nice job, but shouldn't the crosshairs on the acrylic rod be facing down to (further) reduce/ avoid parallax?
They surely seem to be facing upwards in the pics - but I might be wrong.
You're free to make it the way you like, I'll continue to actually make things the way they work best for me. Fair?

Cross hairs on bottom seem to need a convex lens on top to magnify fine score marks. Some experimental shaping and polishing or you don't see a thing.
Most commercial optic centers have just a .003 dot.
With bombsight on top that is avoided, but there is little assurance line of sight is truly perpendicular.
I wear eyeglasses, rarely need them to do machine or bench work. But cannot discern dot superimposed over scribe marks without them, due odd optic function in what seems very short extra focal distance.
