    Funny thing about one-way glass is... it's not one way. You can flip the pane of glass around and it'll still look like roughly similar to the video.

    It uses the non-linearity of our eyes to trick us. It's just partially silvered glass to make a crummy mirror. The real trick here is that it's much brighter on one side of the glass than the other. It's just the signal-to-noise ratio on the bright side of the glass that makes it appear one-way.

    I think they might be putting one-way film on a piece of glass, not cleaning the back of a one-way mirror. You can see in a couple of shots where the soapy water they're floating the film on gets squeegeed out at the edge and the film attaches to the glass.
